Straightline Practice LP evolved from Messrs Obi & Co. with the infusion of Mr. Ben Amanze Onuoha as a Partner.
Messrs Obi & Co was established in 1997 by Vynn N. Obi, Esq., after a brief sojourn in the corporate world. Vynn Obi, the Principal Partner was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1991 and has had a rich and varied practice rooted mostly in corporate consultancy, transactional advisory, real estate and trusts; and has had considerable experience in serving a wide variety of clients within and beyond Nigeria.
Mr. Onuoha had spent over 17 years with the firm of Sofunde, Osakwe, Ogundipe & Belgore, which is widely recognized as one of Nigeria’s leading law firms and which offers quality service to a wide range of clients within all areas of a commercial law practice; where he rose to become an Associate Partner in 2008, the first associate in the history of the firm to be so promoted since its inception. He headed the Oil and Gas litigation department and represented an Oil major in various litigations against it. He also represented a pre-inspection multi-national corporation in pre-inspection claims against it amongst others.
Prior to the formation of StraightLine Practice LP, the partners had, since their call to the bar, been in active legal practice.
Presently, StraightLine Practice LP (the firm) has a number of legal practitioners working for it full-time and a wide range of correspondent associates in other parts of Nigeria and overseas. Prior to the recent metamorphosis, the partners and the associates have worked with various leading law firms in various parts of the world especially in Europe and in the United States of America on a wide range of matters.
Though based in Lagos, we operate in every part of Nigeria through an extensive network of correspondent associates. With the effective communication facilities at our disposal and our ever-ready professionals, we are able to reach any part of the country where our services are required, with ease.
